The hinges have been trial-fitted in the post, and all looks promising so far - the real test of course comes when we lift the door into place.

The old wheelnuts were incomplete and very battered. I was lucky enough to find a set of NEW left-hand thread wheelnuts on Ebay and they arrived today.

I have spent time searching for adjustable coach hinges of the type required, but have at last found them. They have a ball and a spring inside and are expensive and complex! But they are authentic!

The door is attached by the top two hinges and fits well. The bottom hinge will be fitted tomorrow. I have been working towards this moment for several months. A great day!

I still have to work out how far the hinge should protrude. I will screw in the top 2 hinges, then adjust the bottom one.
